As parents, we tried many events in an effort to give Ronan skills that will build on his character and his strengths while providing him with opportunity for fun. He has been with Snowhawks Raven since he was 8 and absolutely loves it. We struggle every year asking the question, “Can we afford this?” The final answer is always “he gets too much out of it to worry about the money”. This year he did the Christmas Break, Saturdays and is over the top excited about joining you for the trip to Quebec. He has made lifelong friends, feels safe and respects you very much. For this we are thankful and pass along our most indebted gratitude to both of you as well as your team of very professional chaperones and instructors. I know Ronan is already talking about one day instructing himself and we are thrilled with this prospect. I hope you have a safe and enjoyable trip to Quebec and thanks for keeping him safe for us.

I wanted to take this opportunity to let you know how much my son enjoyed the program. He went from whining about hating to ski to now saying he wants to go to the Olympics as a skier. I was so impressed with his instructor, Nick. He really encouraged Neel each and every week. In spite of my son being the slowest person in his group, he never felt deflated by it (this is a boy who can become agitated very easily when confronted by athletic challenges). Not once did I have to cajole Neel to get out of bed. In fact, he woke up at 6 a.m. (a full 30 minutes before his alarm) and started to get ready for the day (something that does not happen for school each day)! As a non-skier and mother, I felt a bit of trepidation letting Neel going on his own but I strongly feel learning to ski is almost a necessity these days, what with class ski trips, etc. You both should be quite proud of the caliber of program you have developed. Thank you! It was an amazing season. I was only able to attend 3 Wednesdays this year but each day was amazing!! I will never forget the ice-lined trees at Craigleith. It was so gorgeous. What a wonderful luxury. I am fortunate to be able to participate. Snowhawks rocks! Esther M.

My son Ben took your Hawks Plus program at Mt St Louis and had never snowboarded before his first lesson this year. From the first time he got off the bus, he had nothing but good things to say. We went skiing on Family Day and seeing his snowboard, his ability and control, was very impressive after just 6 lessons. He was very happy with his instructors and had nothing but nice things to say about them. The whole experience has been very positive. I also appreciated how easy it was to re-schedule one of his Saturday lessons to a Sunday. I will be signing him up for next year and would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone. Thank you for running such a good program and for hiring such skilled and fun instructors. Lorraine K.

Thank you so much for such a great week! Hannah loved the program on so many levels. Her instructor was amazing and she thought her skiing really improved. She loved the way her teacher taught but using experiential exercises and not just telling them what to do. She also made a new friend from her ski group. We were so impressed by how well the March Break camp was run and the convenient bussing drop off. We are still amazed at how you managed to change the weather to almost no rain and lots of sunshine. I want to thank you for the great season of learning that both Ishi and Alex had with your fabulous team. For both kids this was only their second season skiing so their learning curve has been pretty steep. My husband and I are very proud, not to mention a little amazed and quietly envious of what they have achieved – they both have become pretty proficient young skiers and both have a love for the sport that I hope will be with them all their lives. Our son Luka (9 yrs old) LOVED his time snowboarding with Snowhawks. This was his first year with the group and his reports of the day’s events given each Sunday night often included excitement and scording of 13 out of 10 on how great his day was.The only thing that would be better would be if the whole family could be there! Having said that, I love this as a step towards his independence. He’ll be back next year.

Thank you so much for all your work, thought and organization on behalf of the Snowhawks, particularly with respect to our trip to Mont Ste-Anne. Your consideration in accommodating me at the last minute with people I know made my stay very comfortable and so much more fun. Thank you too for your hospitality on Monday evening… Please convey my appreciation to your team of helpers… The remarkable thing about your group is that it appears to be free of “cliques” in spite of the fact that lots of people have known each other for years now. Thank you very much for all your hard work and dedication to provide a great ski experience for the students. Your program is very well organised and well run. For all the details that had to be covered and planned for it was extremely well done. As a parent chaperon, I was well prepared as to what to expect and how best to assist the outings. The preparation was well organised and contributed greatly to the success of the program. The plans were well executed and when things did not go as planned the contingencies were in place to keep the program on track for the evening. This is a great credit to your program and leadership. The students all had great experiences and that was evident on the bus rides. They were well behaved and excited about skiing. I would not hesitate to have my child participate or to be involved as volunteer in the future. Thank you again. Darren D.
